My Plate Mate & GIVEAWAY!
THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!!
My Plate-Mate is a unique spill guard that promotes independence while minimizing messy spills at meal time. It easily attaches to standard round plates for convenience. My Plate-Mate promotes advanced self-feeding with toddlers. My Plate-Mate is an assisted eating aid for the elderly and for those with special needs. It promotes independence, self confidence, and dignity at meal time.
We received a My Plate-Mate, and Sarah seems to really like it. It has helped her a lot with making less of a mess. I like the fact that I don't have to clean up a HUGE mess on the table, and she likes that she can scoop her food easier. I noticed that I can attach it to any of our plates. I was very surprised at how much it stretches.
I also like that I can put it in the dishwasher.

Using My Plate-Mate at meal time will:
Prevent messy spills on the table
Help your child successfully learn to use a utensil
Increase your child's confidence and independence at meals
Promote developmental growth as your child advances to the next stage of self feeding
Simple and Easy:
Fits onto a child's 8"-9 1/2" round plate
Easy to clean, dishwasher safe
Light and easy to transport to restaurants or outings
Made in the USA of certified, FDA approved plastic

4/24/2008 11:03 AM
I use to work at a rehab center about 2 years ago and they used these with the recovering stroke patients. I thought they were so cool then and would LOVE to have one now for my baby girl.

4/24/2008 11:18 AM
What a great idea!!!! How many times does my poor dd's food end up on the table instead of on her spoon and in her mouth. This would certainly give her confidence in eating, less messes and less frustration!
4/24/2008 11:19 AM
My sweet 7yo nephew is profoundly mentally retarded. He can feed himself, but oh, he makes a mess. This would be perfect for him! And I'd choose blue for him.

The pink one is my favorite. I have two girls and my two year old would like to eat off of a plate like everyone else but is so frustrated that she can't use her fork to scoop so I give her (much to her sadness) a bowl instead. This would help foster independent feeding. Thanks!

This would be good for either one of my kids (ages 3 and 8 months). I would pick a blue one. I like the idea of the one for seniors as well. You could use that one for regular plates for your kids too, if you wanted to take them to a nice restaurant (if you had lost your mind).

coleenvigil(at)yahoo(dot)com
4/25/2008 1:47 PM
I'd pick white. My son loves to self feed, but end up with more food on the table, the floor and all over himself than in his mouth. This would help so much! Great idea!
4/25/2008 3:34 PM
I'd like to win because after going through 2 kids with no plate mate, after seeing it, I NEED one for the third.
And, of course, we're all about pink in this house.
Thanks!
4/25/2008 3:37 PM
Those are cool. Never heard of them before. My son could really use that!

4/25/2008 5:48 PM
What a great idea for a product! I agree with a previous commenter - after having lived without one through two kids, I really feel like this is a must-have for my 3rd! In fact, I'm sure it'd still come in handy with my 2nd born, who still manages to slide food onto the table frequently.
Thank you for the giveaway! I would choose white if I were to win. :)
4/25/2008 5:52 PM
This would be great for my nephew. I like the blue! Thanks for the giveaway!

That bright blue is my favorite.
4/25/2008 7:06 PM

I like the pink my plate mate for kids. Great giveaway, thanks!
4/26/2008 7:05 AM
I have a toddler just about to learn to self-feed. I've always disliked this stage because of the mess, so I would love a platemate!! I like the white the best.
4/26/2008 7:33 AM
My son thinks it's great to spin his plate around instead of eating his food. This would help. I'd say the white would be best because most of our plates are white.
4/26/2008 10:15 AM
I like the blue. Great idea.
4/26/2008 10:39 AM

I'd love to win this for my little boy. The blue or white are great!
4/26/2008 6:36 PM
I would love to win this for my little guy. He has severe special needs and although he is seven years old, he still has great difficulty eating. It would be wonderful for him to be able to use one of our regular plates so he could feel like a big boy, but still have the control he needs to scoop up his food. If I should win his favorite color is blue. Thank you.

4/27/2008 1:41 PM

4/27/2008 4:21 PM
We'd love to win a white one. My daughter is learning to use a spoon, but gets frustrated and starts using her hands when she can't scoop food onto the spoon. This looks like it would really help her out.

4/28/2008 4:32 AM
Would love to win. White probably, we are BIG into peas and our dog does not need to eat any more that land on the floor! LOL!
4/28/2008 8:16 AM
Our 2 year old loves using his utensils... but often scoops food right off the plate. I'd really love to try one of these! We'd pick a white one.
4/28/2008 8:26 AM
With 3 kids and a husband, I really hate cleaning up after dinner, especially wiping down the table. I'm not entirely sure, maybe it's the rice that sticks and smears on the table, maybe it's the dog barking because she's mad that I don't scrape it onto the floor for her, or maybe it's having to scoop cold mashed potatoes and chewed up food into my hand and carrying it to the garbage can, any of the above is a great reason to get one of these. I like the white since I have 2 girls and 1 boy. Multi-functional that way. :)
4/28/2008 12:18 PM
wonderful for a child learning how to feed themselves - blue
tiramisu392 (at) yahoo.com
4/28/2008 5:09 PM

4/28/2008 8:44 PM

4/29/2008 8:10 AM
I'd love to win a white one and pass it on to my lil cousin. My aunt's too worried about him spilling all over...she feeds him all the time - NOT HEALTHY! I think this will help him eat alone (or help her let him do so!) and will increase the lil one's confidence!
4/29/2008 7:58 PM

5/04/2008 1:58 AM

5/04/2008 5:10 AM
Pink. I have bought my 2 yr. old daughter "kiddie" plates and they are the worst for her to "scoop" on. Now she can use her fun plates again.
5/04/2008 10:28 AM
My disabled daughter would love this in pink. This would aid her in eating and would not be a typical medical issue aid. The bright color would make her feel less conscious of having an issue.
5/04/2008 1:39 PM
A pink would would be great, with a toddler eating (and making more of a mess than any of my other children ever managed), and my infant starting to eat, I could use this to help my toddler learn how to eat, instead of banging her plate on the table, and feeding the dog. (Yes, the dog would be sad. A sacrifice I'm willing to make!)
5/04/2008 4:46 PM
what an incredible invention! Wish I thought of it! :) With this our little Bentley's rice would stay on his plate! I would love any color! Good luck to me.
5/04/2008 6:14 PM

5/04/2008 8:08 PM
I'd like the blue one. I have yet to meet a neat toddler and if there is one out there, they're definitely not mine!
5/04/2008 10:29 PM
Anything pink. LOL
hermanthompson (at) yahoo(dot)com
5/05/2008 5:09 AM
Even though I am all about the PINK on my blog, I would choose white so that it could be recycled and passed from kid to kid! I would give this to my good friend who has a little girl learning to eat by herself and she would love to have less mess to clean up. Thankfully, my youngest, who is nearly 4, has finally mastered the art of eating neatly!

5/05/2008 4:54 PM
What a great idea - any color is fine.
5/05/2008 6:26 PM
Oh wow - that is a neat idea! Looks like something that would have been good for the older 4 children to use... but this one would be used for my baby girl - she is almost 2 and still a mess. :) I would choose the pink one.
5/05/2008 7:06 PM
I like the pink floral plate with the pink plate mate. What an ingenius idea. I have grandkids. Why didin't they have things like this when I was aharried mom?
5/05/2008 7:15 PM
I would pick the blue one for my friend's messy kid!
5/05/2008 7:29 PM
