Very interesting site! I love the fact that it was a dad that invented this product due to his own daughter choking on the standard size outlet plug. I learned that the air holes were designed after the airholes in a pacifier and that the product was inpired by the US government pacifier anti-choking safety regulations. This is really an awesome item that all homes with children living or visiting should have! Thanks so much!!!Michele R.(CA)

Congratulations on winning. I will be emailing you.

I am so excited to share with everyone these awesome little caps. SafetyCaps have been such a huge life saver for me. Not just because my girls like to shove butter knives in the sockets, but finally electric outlet plugs that they can't choke on.

SafetyCaps are the answer to any parents dreams! This product was created by a parent that his daughter choked on a standard size outlet plug. George created SafetyCaps after his daughter, Sage Elisabeth, found a standard sized plug that he removed to vacuum. She stuck it into her mouth, the device lodged itself into her throat. He then saved her life. SafetyCaps was created using pacifier anti-choking regulations. To date, over 40 Hospitals from across the US have written to the CPSC requesting that they regulate these plugs to comply with pacifier regulations.

Standard plug covers are only 1 3/8 inches wide and can easily fit in the airway of any toddler or baby. Pacifiers are wider than that, so why not outlet plug covers? You, the parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, loved one... anyone.. can purchase an entire house of Safety Caps for a great price, with free shipping!

Would you like to win a set of your own for your house?

I think it's great that the dad was proactive and created this safe alternative to the traditional outlet cover.

love how they are made big enough so the little ones can't choke on them!

I think it's wonderful to see parents seeing a need (or in this case, danger) in the market, and taking it upon themselves to fill that void, and in doing so helping others! I like that they have the National Parentibg center seal of approval, as well as many doctors! Also, they are so reasonably priced!

I also love that they large enough and have air holes that make them choke-safe! I did not know that was the purpose of the holes on pacifiers!

I love the design of these. It's great that they are clear and most important that they have air holes in them and are larger. I never thought about the other type as a choking hazard before, it's great to see a product so well thought out.
Thanks for offering this giveaway.

You know, when I had my kids, sooo long ago, I had the plugs that you can so obviously choke on......I never ever thought of it! These are a brilliant shape and size!

I could use these though, for when my grandkids, neices and nephews come to visit and I would send some to my eldest daughter who has a growing family!

Thanks

I thought that "SafetyCaps patented
design was inspired
using U.S. Government pacifier anti-choking safety regulations" was interesting.

First off, what I find interesting is that it took a child almost dying before anyone made a better outlet cover. Plus the fact that they STILL make the old outlet covers!!!! Interesting about them is the simple design like a pacifer and with the airholes.. wiicked13 [at] yahoo [dot] com

Wow, I never knew that the traditional outlet plugs were so dangerous. One thing I did notice about them was that they are easy for children to pull them out. My son figured out how to get them out pretty easily. I wonder if these are harder to get out. I'm sure they a lot better.

I find it interesting that they are big enough to prevent choking. I've never heard of or thought of that before with electrical covers.

I never even thought about the choking hazard of the kids we have now. Brilliant design to make it wider with air holes.

The thought of this never even crossed my mind! What a wonderful product and I'm thankful to hear he was able to save his child. I have a one year old at home, I'd love to have these. Great giveaway!

I think it's great that they have air holes and a size that meets safety standards for pacifiers (ie anti-choking). I've only ever seen the solid round ones before, and these are far better!

Not only are the Safety Caps large enough to prevent choking hazards, but they have air holes to ensure that your child will not choke. These are an amazing idea and product. I'd love to win your giveaway for my pregnant niece who is having her first child after years of trying. Just think of the peace of mind she (and us) will have. Terrific giveaway!!!

I have a few of these but need more to do my entire house. I love the air holes in them and that a dad invented them instead of just thinking there was nothing else to do when the others caused a problem.

ihchicky said...

I think the best feature is that they are big enough so they won't fit in a little one's mouth which eliminates the choking factor. Thanks!

unique size and shape, also that they are clear, therefore, less noticeable!

I like that they have a satisfaction guarantee- it's very rare for a small company. I truly appreciate parent invented products because I know that alot of thought and care goes into it but I like to know that products were tested by many people and really work before investing in them myself. A guarantee would let me try them without getting stuck with something if it doesnt work.

I found it interesting that the design was based on pacifier anti-choking regulations.

The worst about the regular covers, is when you have to take them out to use the plug...then where do you put them out of a child's reach. Great product

Teresa said...

I like that they have air holes for added safety. This looks like a great and much needed product! Thanks!

I love that the dad went beyond his daughter's crisis not only to learn his own lesson but to share his solution with the world.

Pacifier-inspired air holes too---they've really thought of everything to keep these safe. Thanks for the heads-up on the choking risks of standard caps.

I had the regular size ones when my children were small. These are great, I never thought about a child choking on one of these. Great job George. And the air holes are a wonderful idea.

I love how these are bigger, because just like the little story there, my daughter has put these in her mouth before and I was afraid she'd choke on them. Its about time they were improved!!!

Two and a quarter inches not only makes them choking safe, but easier to keep track of after you take one out to say, vacuum a room. I would love this since we're moving in two weeks! Thanks!

SafetyCaps measure 2 1/4 inches in greatest diameter. If your child can't fit it in their mouth, they can't possibly choke on SafeyCaps

Wow, I had never considered that these could be a choking habit, and had it on my list to go buy a ton of these in the next month sometime. I love that they put air holes in it to keep them from choking completely should they actually swallow it.
