ok, i've never ever been on a plane before. my husband and myself are going to hawaii in january. what i'd like to know is; how does one go about packing lightly? does a person with motion sickness have to take dramamine or something comprible to that? are the restrooms as small as they depict in movies and on tv? do you really have to get to the airport two hours before your flight? has airport security slacked off and not as tight as it used to be back in the 9/11 era? what shouldn't i pack? are there any tips to make yourself not stand out to get picked for a thorough search? i have metal in my ear, am i going to set their alarm off? i plan on taking my laptop because i heard the flight is super long. do planes have free wi-fi yet?

My husband and I have 3 young children all under the age of 10 and our youngest is 5 months old. We would love to get away in February when it is so bitter cold where we live and take our 3 children somewhere warm and sunny. Money is tight, and we know we will have to travel by air. I've never flown before, and am due to fly to the Caribbean next year. I have claustrophobia. Will I be able to handle the "3 seats across" in a plane?

We just returned from a wedding that was nine hours away. I get a migraine when I read while riding. Other that movies what are some good time passers that can be done alone or with the other passengers.

I've heard many airlines are changing policies on checking bags and bringing strollers through the airport and checking it at the gate. This last makes it so much easier when traveling with a toddler alone.
My question is, will there still be a few airlines that allow this without charging an extra fee? We live near an Airforce Base currently far away from family in two different states and flying it expensive enough without added charges!

My question is: Is it true that if you have ever been arrested in your life for anything that it can be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to receive approval to enter Canada?
